Binance’s CZ and Bloomberg Continue to Clash Over Crypto Advisory Reports
CZ slams Bloomberg for negative coverage of his crypto advisory work, accusing them of misquoting him and focusing on past legal issues over current efforts.

CZ Criticizes Bloomberg Over Negative Framing of Crypto Advisory Efforts
Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, former CEO of Binance, has reignited tensions with Bloomberg, criticizing the publication for negatively portraying his recent efforts to advise governments on crypto policy. The dispute stems from Bloomberg’s coverage of CZ’s meeting with the Malaysian Prime Minister, in which his advisory role was framed through the lens of his past legal issues.
Bloomberg’s article highlighted his money laundering conviction and past regulatory reprimands, questioning his credibility in shaping crypto regulations. CZ responded by accusing the outlet of taking his remarks out of context and downplaying the significance of his advisory work in countries like Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.
One controversial quote from a Q&A about Giggle Academy, a non-profit he supports, was interpreted as insensitive toward child labor laws. CZ dismissed it as a joke and expressed disappointment that the publication focused on it rather than Giggle’s mission and impact.
Despite media scrutiny, CZ continues to advocate for balanced crypto regulation, positioning himself as a key voice in global digital asset policy.
Highlights: Changpeng “CZ” Zhao criticizes Bloomberg for negative coverage, claiming its framing of his actions is biased and unjustified. Bloomberg's article highlighted CZ's advisory roles with Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and Malaysia on crypto policy but focused on his criminal past. CZ refutes claims about his comments on Giggle Academy, calling them misrepresented and taken out of context to tarnish his reputation.
